Three days of travelling while crossing 9 timezones is not for ants! Or normal people!
Our choice to save a few dollars and fly via Dubai then back to Buenos Aires (via Rio de Janero) before heading north (but not before a westerly jump over the Andes to Santiago) to Bogota, was questioned a few times before we arrived in Colombia.
We can now call ourselves experts on airline food and transitting procedures. And I'll be happy to not see the inside of an aeroplane for a while!
We arrived in Bogota yesterday to an overcast sky and scattered showers! It's a bit of a dirty city undergoing what can be described as a facelift. Not unlike Newtown in Johannesburg (according to Bron) , one can see the city is working hard to bring itself up to an international standard. It is hedged in by the magnificent green mountains of the northern Andes. We are off to explore shortly.
Unfortunately cannot upload any photos yet because the hostels SD reader is broken.
